This blog is simply about my art, nothing else at all, no opinions, no articles, other than my art itself. I am not selling my art on here I am simply allowing it to be seen, my work and the progress of my journey. I hope you enjoy it.
Of course I retain the copyright to all my work and would appreciate that being adhered too. Thank you.
Experiments is all about work where I pushed boundaries of my own, not of the art itself, but the experiments I made with texture, depth, boundaries we set as an observer......

| Harlech Castle |
Harlech Castle. Mixed Media with sculptured elements incorporated.
Norton Priory in Warrington North West England has a scarecrow display every year, the amazing creations are to be found sat all over the walled garden in a variety of poses. This was a very happy afternoon spent with y Mum Dora Morrison Jones ( Dolls and Soft Sculptures) and Sister Pat Morrison Jones (Calligraphy and Illumination), we had a very creative day with photography, paintings and designs.
Aging is difficult with paintings and usually only committed by someone desiring to feed a false image, copy an image but I wanted to understand cracked and fractured paint and varnish..it was a success, this painting was created using fingers, plastic bags and a small knife I pinched from the cutlrey drawer.
Painting a mountain rande covered in snow was one of my challenges, successful it sold inside 24 hours of being displayed at The Mermaid in Harlech
White is as awkward as black to paint with any depth and this painting was not easy, finally realising I needed to paint the shadows and the contours made it a lot easier.
I loved using my PC Paint programme to create this book cover Mask was the first time I used the programme and I felt it was successful.
Doodles! I love to doodle and this felt tip pen one was for me an exercise in fitting shapes in, across and round each other.
Not even walls escaped my desire to paint, an old wall that faced the kitchen window in one of 'those' landlords houses when I stayed for a short while during a family crisis. Loved painting it though
A water colour which I enjoyed immensley in its creation
A depiction of a Meditation sequence photography manipulated to create the wanted atmosphere
Just about to throw some wood on the log burner when this charming knot of roots revealed itself. It took months of drying, stripping, oiling and sanding but eventually the love between Hawthorn and Ivy was revealed and sits on my Sisters sideboard with a candle light inside it.
I want a Mermaid said my friend Teresa and indeed I made her one, two inches deep in parts it was the scene she most loved when visiting Harlech.
A painting in acrylic, photographed and manipulated to create the title cover for my PDF book
The Last Walk

| Harlech Castle |
The castle has a bloody history, I tried to display that using only the darkest of colours and though successful, eventually it 'creeped me out' and it was destroyed.
 |
| Julies Jamaican Dreams |
My friend Julie Wright loves Jamaica and for her Christmas present I created this dream sequence meditation image which incorporates sculpture, colour and a path which is clearly seen by those who walk the same path. Mixed Media
 |
| A Walk in the Woods |
Meditation Mood Oil painting with textures and overlays of varying depths of varnish to create awareness of light and reflection, difficult to take a photograph of because of those textures.
 |
| In the style of Vangogh |
the very first painting which Miranda Edwards a fine Tutor and exceptional artist in her own right, involved me in the use of sandpaper and not being afraid to use my fingers...loved the process. Acrylic.
 |
| Mermaid |
Very details process with sculpture, real stone, varnishes, acrylics and oils all mixed together with a slap dash joy, using gold leaf to finish the hair was my final expression of 'just for the heck of it'

| The Colours of Black |
Pastel experiment. I took a photograph of a line of black glass bottles then blew it up on the PC until it pixelated and I could see the colours used to make 'black', just to test my theory I walked a distance away from this painting in a general comparison of distance to the PC magnified view...it looked Black that was my proof, bonus and ...next experiment please !
 |
| Once Upon A Time |
Acrylic on paper this experiment was to tell a love story of two people so different and yet.walking side by side, using many techniques and colour coding the storyline with the history of the journey each person underwent. The success of it...we are still together :)

| Scarlet Woman |
I used gypsum to finish the surface of this very simplistic image created from an idea after reading Simone de Beauvoir. I left the painting in the company of men and women for a few moments. To the last but one, ALL the women touched or traced the hair, the ribbon the arm of the painting leaving their fingerprints and smudges visible to the naked eye. ALL the men bar one touched the buttocks the breast and one even slid his finger down the inner thigh depicted. One man and one alone slid his finger down her back. The women saw a Ballet Dancer getting ready, The men saw a naked woman just out of the bath doing her hair......says a lot about us doesn't it :)
